How to Create an SEO-Friendly Landing Page

SEO landing page

We’ve already discussed how to create a landing page. Now, let’s have a look at how to keep your landing page SEO-optimized. It’ll help you get more organic traffic and hopefully, more clients.

Here are five tips on creating an SEO-friendly landing page.

URL matters

Your URL is like your business card—it should provide search engines with your most important details. Make sure you use your custom domain and give meta-descriptions to your pages. Something like: yourcompany.com/your-landing-page-meta-description. This way, search engines can understand the structure of your website.

Use keywords

They help search engines rank your content. Research long-tail keywords that your potential customers can use while researching services you provide and use them strategically.

Give your content structure

To index correctly, your landing page must utilize a structure that’s understandable to search engines.

  • Title tag
Short and with a high-quality keyword.

  • Images and videos

  • Alt tag
These can be added to images so that bots can read the tags in case the image fails to load.

  • Meta description
Short description of the landing page’s content.

  • Headings
Use the H1, H2, H3 structure. This gives your content an easily readable structure. Use keywords if possible.

  • Backlinking
Link to your content to rank higher in search engines.

All these can help search engine algorithms read your landing page more easily.

Write for humans

Sure, you need your content to rank, but always remember that your website is primarily created for humans and not search engine AI. Use keywords, but do it naturally so that they don’t seem out of place. Besides, google algorithms can recognize keyword stuffing, so it’ll work to your disadvantage.

Check your website’s loading time

Make sure your landing page loads quickly, or search engines may penalize you for that. What’s more, 45% of people expect websites to load in under two seconds, and two in five people will abandon the website if it loads in over three seconds, according to Kissmetrics
