How to use your significant other to help you write

Your significant other plays a huge part in your life. And yet, sometimes, when running a business, you may not think of incorporating the most important person in your life into your venture. They may not know your business professionally, but their insights may prove vital to your success.

No matter how amazing your idea for a company is, or how great a product you’ve launched, you’ll always need to get people on board. It’s crucial to sell your idea to other people, infect others with your enthusiasm.

In order to do that, you’ll need to make your pitch, publish blog posts and news articles, run countless press releases… the list just goes on and on.

You’re so deep in your idea, but not everyone knows your company inside-out. You may lose objectivity or even simply miss some obvious errors.

That’s where your significant other comes in. Give them your pitch. Ask to read your content. Then, listen to their thoughts carefully.

Did you manage to convey your ideas, or did you miss your point completely? Was the text easy to follow? Did they need any clarifications from you, or was everything clear from the start? Is there anything you should add?

Feedback is an essential part of the writing process. By having someone have a look at your text, you’ll end up becoming a better writer yourself.
